Century's National Honor Society is a group of academically driven and service-minded juniors and seniors who exemplify the four pillars of NHS: character, scholarship, leadership, and service. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the advisor, Mrs. Strause

NHS Officers for 2025-2026

National Honor Society Membership Requirements:

  • Students will maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5

  • Students will uphold the pillar of Character by maintaining a clean disciplinary record.

    • A referral will result in automatic dismissal from NHS.

  • An annual due of $10 will be made to the bookkeeper or on the Century Webstore before the end of Semester 1 (these dues are used to award scholarships at the end of each year)

  • Students will complete 40 hours of service over the course of their junior and senior years, 20 of which are group (service opportunities provided by NHS) and 20 of which are individual (service opportunities that you seek out on your own).

    • All 40 hours need to be completed by the first week of May of your senior year

  • Students are required to attend the majority of all NHS meetings, which are quarterly throughout the year. This means you need to attend at least 4 out of a possible 7 meetings during both your junior and senior year.

  • Students are expected to be enrolled in at least 5 credit-earning classes during their junior AND senior year. Non-credit earning classes like Teacher's Aide or Study Hall do not count. 

Meetings & Important Dates:

NHS meets quarterly throughout the year, usually on Thursdays at 8am in the Lecture Hall. Attendance is required of all members in order to maintain membership and earn a cord at the end of senior year. Below are the meeting dates for the 2025-2026 school year:

  • Fall Meeting: September 18th, 2025
  • Winter Meeting: January 15th, 2026
  • Spring Meeting: April 9th, 2026
  • Summer Meeting: June 4th , 2026 (not required for Class of 2026) 

Induction of New Members: 

Sophomores who were earning a cumulative 3.5+ GPA as of the end of Semester 1 will receive their NHS invitation by the first week of March, delivered to them in their Advisory classes. The invitation letter will have information on requirements, how to join, and where to gain access to important announcements.
